Your Role
As Foxtrot’s HR Lead, you’ll shape how our teams grow, develop, and thrive. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone who loves building structure, fostering growth, and creating systems that help people do their best work. You will work closely with the COO and CFO. This role will oversee Foxtrot’s HR operations across the U.S., Canada, and the EU. The HR Lead will ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions, lead compensation and benefits planning, and implement scalable HR systems that support a rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities
The role is dynamic, requiring a candidate who is adaptable, thrives in a team environment, and can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities will vary based on placement with the customer, but will include some or all of the following:
Lead Foxtrot’s HR strategy and execution, aligning people initiatives with company goals
Oversee core HR operations including performance management, total rewards, employee relations, benefits, and compliance
Manage and maintain U.S. employment law compliance, benefits and PTO/leave plan administration, and familiarity with international HR laws (UK, Canada, EU)
Configure and manage employee data, onboarding flows, payroll integrations, and benefits programs
Lead compensation benchmarking, salary banding, and pay equity analysis
Draft and maintain employment contracts, termination documentation, and privacy compliance (including GDPR for employee data)
Partner with leadership to forecast organizational design, staffing, and succession needs
Drive learning initiatives, manager training, and upskilling programs
Lead process improvements, HRIS implementation, and ensure integration with payroll and contractor management systems
Develop and analyze HR dashboards and models using Google Sheets or Excel
Provide coaching and guidance to employees on performance, development, and conflict resolution
Manage vendor and partner relationships including insurance brokers, benefits administrators, and legal advisors
Support Foxtrot’s international expansion and resource management planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior generalist role
At least 4 years of dedicated HR experience with strong exposure to U.S. employment law and multi-state compliance
Strong understanding of HRIS systems and integrations with payroll platforms
Proven experience managing full-cycle HR processes including onboarding, performance, compensation, and offboarding
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic partnership with hands-on HR operations
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills
Analytical mindset; comfortable building HR models and dashboards using Google Sheets or Excel
Comfortable supporting a distributed, global team environment
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting distributed teams across the U.S., Canada, and Europe
Background in scaling HR systems in high-growth organizations (50–500+ employees)
Understanding of international HR compliance and benefit structures
Exposure to tech or startup environments
Familiarity with equity design, compensation frameworks, and pay equity analysis
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification a plus
